Writing Exercise: Design Your Life

How would you like to enrich or unfold into your life? Reflect on this. What does that mean to you? Write a word, any word, the first word that comes to mind. Now write for three minutes without stopping or thinking, just stream of consciousness write, let one word flow into the next. Just put pen to paper and let whatever words want to be expressed appear for the next three minutes.

Pause. Take a deep breath and exhale. And another. Let it all go.

Circle seven words that leap off the page for you. Use these seven words to compose a forty-nine word poem. Write first and edit later. Reflect on what you’ve written. What message does this poem offer you about your life?
