Spirit Stream Salon
An evening of mediumship, conversation, and contemplation
A Spirit Stream Salon is a private evening of mediumship for a group of your choosing, friends, family, or colleagues, up to eight people. Organizing your own group means you share the experience with people you know and trust, in a space that feels genuinely intimate.
A Rich Tradition Reimagined
In the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, salons devoted to mediumship were intimate gatherings where thoughtful people came together to explore consciousness, communication with those in spirit, and the enduring nature of human relationships. Held in private homes and cultural salons across London, Dublin, Paris, and Boston, these evenings combined meaningful communication, deep listening, and reflective conversation. Figures such as W. B. Yeats moved within circles that regarded these gatherings as places of inquiry, inspiration, and profound human encounter.
That tradition now finds fresh expression in Spirit Stream Salon of mediumship, an intimate evening for private groups of up to eight people, held on Zoom or in person in New York City.
Part I: Communication from Spirit
The first part of the evening is devoted to communication from loved ones in spirit. Karen Frances invites those known to members of the group to join the salon, offering clear, recognizable details to identify who is present, followed by messages shared with care and integrity. The focus is on evidential communication and meaningful connection, allowing those in spirit to express what they wish, often bringing reassurance, love, and a sense of continued presence.
Mediumship in a group setting is shaped by those in spirit who choose to communicate on the evening. While every effort is made to reach each participant, Karen Frances cannot guarantee that every member of the group will receive a message.
Part II: Reflection or Direct Experience
The second part of the salon is a facilitated conversation, drawing on the evening's communications and the broader questions they raise. Karen Frances brings context, historical, literary, and philosophical, to deepen and extend what the evening has presented. What does it mean that this person is still present? What do the contemplative and intellectual traditions tell us about consciousness, about what endures, about the nature of these encounters?
The group brings their own questions, beliefs, and frameworks, religious, skeptical, philosophical, or simply curious. The conversation is richer for that variety. People leave not just with messages from those they love, but with a deeper understanding of the territory those messages open up.
In this way, the salon becomes both encounter and inquiry, rooted in a rich tradition, yet shaped for our time.
The salon is booked and paid for as a single session. For booking inquiries, please get in touch using an option below.
