Certificate
Reiki Level I & II
You can receive a Certificate of Completion once you have finished this weekend intensive by logging in to each session and doing the required practices.
If you cannot attend a live session, you can do the practices at home and document the experiences. Once we receive this log, we can issue your certificate.
How Online Practice Works
Even in an online setting, practice is key! Here’s how we ensure hands-on learning:
✨ Practice on yourself — “Healer heal thyself” is the starting place for all healing work, so this program starts with sessions specifically designed for you to work on healing yourself through combining Reiki with somatic sensing.
✨Practice with a Partner – Energy knows no bounds, so during class, you’ll pair up with fellow students for guided Reiki exchanges.
✨Practice with a Partner – Between sessions, you can practice what you are learning on friends and family, and don’t worry if you are still learning - your honest healing intention will always find ways to heal even if you are still new to the hand positions or attunement
✨ Use a Pet or a Teddy – If you don’t have a human partner, you can practice on a doll, stuffed animal, or even a willing pet! Reiki flows through intention, making these great practice tools.
✨ Join Our Private Facebook Group – Find practice partners anytime, ask questions, and stay connected with our Reiki community.

Karen Frances McCarthy PhD CSNU is a Usui Reiki Master, as well as an accredited medium, an academic, and a best-selling author who strives to bring a unique perspective to modern mediumship, one that blends the presence and loving kindness of Zen with rigorous evidence-based spiritualist practices and the Celtic mysticism of her upbringing. Her bestselling book Till Death Don’t Us Part has touched the hearts of many, and her public speaking engagements can offer profound insights into spirituality and its transformative power of expanded and eternal consciousness.
Karen’s doctoral research is a groundbreaking contribution to contemporary literary studies. It explores themes of continued consciousness, new approaches to spirituality, narrative empathy, and new pathways for understanding life's emotional and spiritual dimensions.
As a firm believer in balancing education with experience, Karen studied intensively at the world-renowned Arthur Findlay College in England and holds three Certificates of Recognition in mediumship, spiritual healing, and public speaking from its governing body, the Spiritualist National Union. She also holds a diploma in grief and bereavement counselling from the Institute of Counselling in Scotland. Her doctoral research and post-doc work focus on contemporary ghost literature, emerging theories of consciousness, cultural influence, and evolving interpretations of the spirit world.
As a teacher, she is inspired by her father, an Olympic Coach, who taught her to pursue excellence in teaching and help every student be the best they can be. Today, she teaches at New York University, The Shift Network, the Arthur Conan Doyle Centre, the Edgar Cayce Center, and the One Spirit Learning Alliance. Many people come to me having experienced very large circles or courses. We believe that mediumship requires individualized attention. This is important for the development of the medium and to ensure mediumship is accurate, ethical and compassionate.
These advanced mentoring programs are limited to 12 places so that you can receive the focused attention you need.

If you miss a class or are in a different time zone, a recording of each gathering will be available 7 days after the live class, this is so that you can ask a question and take the live classes sequentially as they build on each other.
Once the live program ends, you will be able to access the entire program for one year so you can revist the teachings anytime.
You can join the Spirit Space private student Facebook group chat to find practice partners, share your experiences, and ask questions.
You can also email questions, which will be answered at the beginning of the following week's class.

For the duration of the course, as it is being taught live, if you have a question about teachings from a class, you can email us, and your question will be answered at the beginning of the next class, so you’ll get the answer in that recording.

Our safe and supportive community is great for experimenting with practical exercises and having fun unfolding your spiritual power. You'll practice in breakout rooms with only one or two other people, so there is no need for stage fright! Sharing is encouraged but optional

You can use a phone or computer with either a built-in or plug in camera and mic. Classes are in a simple Zoom room. Just click the link we email you, and you will be taken into the room with the rest of us - like magic!

Because the live programs are limited to 10-14 students so individual mentoring is available to each. This means we are unable to offer a scholarship place.
However, we do have a referral program, where you can get credits to use for courses and private sessions by referring friends, who also get a $20 discount.
