Two Paths of Development
Two circles are offered: psychism and mediumship. Each discipline meets for four sessions, held every other week across eight weeks. This pacing supports focus, depth, and meaningful integration between sessions.
Psychic & Extrasensory Perception
This circle focuses on developing psychic and extrasensory perception skills in a grounded, supportive environment. It is ideal for those taking The Psychic Detective masterclass.

We believe that ESP/Psychic development and mediumship flourish through repetition and reflection. You don’t need to be "perfect" to join us—you just need a willingness to show up and practice.
Development happens in the doing. Our circles are designed to bridge the gap between understanding your abilities and embodying them.
Schedule and Format
There is one live circle each week on Thursdays at 7:30 pm Eastern Time.
Two different disciplines are offered:
Mediumship Development
ESP Development
These two disciplines alternate each week: mediumship runs one week, psychism the next, then mediumship again, then psychism again, for a total of eight weeks.
You can register in one discipline and only attend every other week when your circle is running, or you can register in both disciplines and attend every week.
This structure keeps each circle focused, allows time to reflect between sessions, and works well across time zones.

Meet Your Mentor
Dr. Karen Frances McCarthy is an internationally respected teacher, speaker, and spiritual educator with decades of experience guiding students in intuitive and mediumship development.
Her approach is grounded, ethical, and deeply supportive — helping students develop trust in their abilities while maintaining integrity and discernment.

Karen Frances McCarthy, PhD CSNU, is an award-holding medium, an academic, and a best-selling author who strives to bring a unique perspective to modern mediumship, one that blends the presence and loving kindness of Zen with rigorous evidence-based spiritualist practices and the Celtic mysticism of her upbringing. Her bestselling book Till Death Don’t Us Part has touched the hearts of many, and her public speaking engagements can offer profound insights into spirituality and the transformative power of expanded and eternal consciousness.
As a firm believer in balancing education with experience, Karen studied intensively at the world-renowned Arthur Findlay College in England and holds three Certificates of Recognition in mediumship, spiritual healing, and public speaking from its governing body, the Spiritualist National Union. She also has a diploma in grief and bereavement counselling from the Institute of Counselling in Scotland.
Karen’s doctoral research is a groundbreaking contribution to contemporary literary studies. It explores themes of continued consciousness, new approaches to spirituality, narrative empathy, and new pathways for understanding life's emotional and spiritual dimensions. Her latest book, based on this research, The Re-enchanted Ghost in Contemporary American Spectral Fiction, is to be published by Routledge/Taylor & Francis in 2026.
As a teacher, she is inspired by her father, an Olympic Coach, who taught her to pursue excellence in teaching and help every student be the best they can be. Another key influence is the profound spiritual connection and inspiring teachings of her mentor, the late Glyn Edwards. Today, she teaches at New York University, The Shift Network, the Spiritualist Union International, the Arthur Conan Doyle Centre, the Edgar Cayce Center, and the One Spirit Learning Alliance. For a deeper, more intensive learning experience, our on-demand Masterclasses offer in-depth study at your own pace.

These circles focus on hands-on, experiential learning, so they aren’t recorded—this way, you can fully engage in the practice and get the most from the live experience.

Our safe and supportive community is great for experimenting with practical exercises and having fun unfolding your spiritual power. You'll practice in breakout rooms with only one or two other people, so there is no need for stage fright! Sharing is encouraged but optional

You can use a phone or computer with either a built-in or plug in camera and mic. Classes are in a simple Zoom room. Just click the link we email you, and you will be taken into the room with the rest of us - like magic!

Due to the limited size of these circles, we are unable to offer a scholarship place.
However, we do have a referral program, where you can get credits to use for courses and private sessions by referring friends, who also get a $20 discount.
